The Punjab government has placed all major hospitals in Rawalpindi on high alert, directing health authorities to ensure full readiness for any emergency situation. The move aims to strengthen healthcare response and maintain uninterrupted medical services across the city.

According to official instructions from the provincial health department, key hospitals including Holy Family Hospital, Benazir Bhutto Hospital, and Rawalpindi Teaching Hospital have been told to make immediate arrangements for essential medicines and ensure round-the-clock presence of medical staff. Hospital administrations have been instructed to stay fully prepared to handle any unexpected incidents.

Emergency departments are required to remain operational 24/7, while operation theatres and radiology units must also be fully functional at all times. Authorities have emphasized strict implementation of shift-wise duty rosters to maintain continuous service delivery without disruption.

In addition, hospitals have been directed to ensure complete preparedness for trauma and surgical emergencies. This includes the availability of specialist doctors such as physicians, surgeons, orthopaedic experts, along with nurses, paramedics, and other supporting staff.

The directive reflects the government’s focus on strengthening emergency healthcare services and ensuring that hospitals in Rawalpindi are fully equipped to respond effectively to any crisis situation.
