Severe Weather Alert: Rain, Thunderstorms and Hail Expected Across Pakistan

Pakistan is set to experience unstable weather conditions as rain, windstorms, thunderstorms, and isolated hailstorms are forecast in several regions over the coming hours. Authorities have urged citizens to remain cautious as changing weather patterns may impact daily life.

According to the latest weather update, scattered rainfall accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is expected in parts of Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, کشمیر, and Islamabad. Meanwhile, light and isolated showers are also likely in Sindh and Punjab during the next 12 hours.

Meteorologists have warned that heavy rainfall may occur in some areas, particularly in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and southern Balochistan. These conditions could lead to localized disruptions, including reduced visibility and difficult travel conditions.

Temperature readings recorded this morning show varying conditions across major cities: Islamabad and Peshawar at 14°C, Lahore at 16°C, Karachi at 21°C, Quetta and Muzaffarabad at 10°C, Gilgit at 11°C, and Murree at a chilly 3°C.

In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, cloudy weather with chances of rain, wind, and thunderstorms is expected in cities such as Srinagar, Jammu, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramula. Leh may experience cloudy skies with possible rain and snowfall. Temperatures there ranged from -4°C in Leh to 15°C in Jammu.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has already issued a weather advisory, warning of severe conditions between March 17 and March 25. Citizens are advised to stay updated with official forecasts and take necessary precautions.

Overall, the ongoing weather system is expected to bring a mix of rainfall and storms across multiple regions, highlighting the need for preparedness and caution nationwide.
