The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has launched a new currency exchange facility at Islamabad International Airport to enhance services for arriving passengers. The counter, located in the international arrivals lounge, allows travelers to convert foreign currency into Pakistani rupees immediately upon arrival.
The facility was officially inaugurated by PAA Director Commercial, Rabia Salma, alongside the airport manager and commercial team members. PAA officials said the initiative aims to provide greater convenience for international travelers, eliminating the need to leave the airport to find currency exchange services.
This development comes after Islamabad International Airport received a 3-star rating from global airport ranking company Skytrax, making it Pakistan’s first airport to achieve this distinction. The rating considered factors such as passenger amenities, services, and overall airport management. For comparison, Dubai Airport also holds a 3-star rating, while Lahore and Karachi airports currently retain 2-star ratings.
The new currency exchange counter reflects Islamabad Airport’s ongoing efforts to improve passenger facilities and provide a seamless experience for travelers arriving in Pakistan.
